Hi, I’m Erica! Former first-grade teacher and now a thriving marketing strategist, but getting here wasn’t a straight line.
After a few years in the classroom, I took a leap of faith and joined a small mortgage company in Houston, TX in a business development role.
Just two months in, I found myself running a marketing department that didn’t even exist yet… and that’s how my marketing journey began.
I literally knew nothing about marketing. I spent evenings googling “what is marketing?” and quickly felt buried under an avalanche of information.
I read countless blog posts, binged YouTube tutorials, signed up for webinars and online courses, and studied competitors; a legit experiment in trial and error.
It was like piecing together a puzzle without ever seeing the box cover. Oof.

Honestly, I struggled with confidence, but I kept pushing forward.
In just a few months we noticed industry peers paying attention. Our name appeared constantly in front of our target audience. Prospective clients began to turn toward us. We saw measurable results. Our growth was undeniable!
Our inbound leads rose each year. Loan closings climbed annually. Team headcount expanded year after year. Every metric improved and my confidence in our marketing strategies soared.
By the fourth year I earned a promotion to Executive Vice President and I was over the moon.
